So my tests have shown everything I want to do and have in mind is viable, now I just need a name.

The format is "Stellar Frontier: F<something> B<something>"

Currently I'm playing with the idea of Frontier Battles. The idea of the game will be on empire building and large scale fleet wars taking place a distance from the war zones represented on the Servers of Stellar Frontier. Ideas very welcome. Please suggest them quickly though as I plan to purchase the domain before next weekend.

Sounds like a interesting idea. I'm not exactly sure for a name though myself. I guess the FB (facebook?). Maybe something will come to me if I think about it more though Wink Frontier Battles atm is pretty good though.

I guess the FB (facebook?).

A good guess Tongue It works really well for the DS games and it'll also make it easier when people acronym to remember that it's the Facebook game they're talking about rather than a mod Smiley

Good thinking Wink I like the idea overall too. How you planning to do this? Like a text based web browser game? I like the fact that you are planning it this way overall. Overall you need to remember too it is very easy to get credits right now, (Maybe a bit different in the future so credits are worth things) but might be a good way to grab. Will rank play any thing in this? Any other stats to make up bonuses to your attributes? etc?

--generated into FAQ--

What will SF:FB actually be?
A text based browser game that will be a mix of Astro Empires (planetary management), Astro Wars (fleet management) and Farmville (getting friends to help, purchasing bonuses).

How many credits will bonuses cost?
Right now my plan is to implement a multiplier off a base value. Let us say 100 credits is an average amount for a player to have. Our base value is, thus, 100. Different things will cost different multiples of this. For example, scanning for a planet faster will have a multiplier of 0.1 (10 credits) whilst getting a Dreadnaught sent from HQ will have a multiplier of 2 (200 credits). The idea is that as you make any economy changes, SF:FB can adapt quickly and painlessly.

Will my Stellar Frontier rank play any thing in this?
No. The aim of the game is to draw in new players. However, higher ranks will, presumably, have more credits sat in their account just waiting to be spent...

Will SF:FB affect any of my Stellar Frontier statistics (kills, deaths etc.)?
No. The only time SF:FB will interact with your Nexus characters will be when you want to spend Stellar Frontier credits.

I don't understand this question. Mind rephrasing/explaining it more?

Stats like kills, deaths, planet captures, etc. I'm not sure how you aim to do 'stats' in SF2.0, and if there going to affect SF:FB, etc.

Ah! No. The only thing that SF:FB will interact with Nexus for is to deduct credits. Whilst Nexus is still in a state of flux, never mind everything else I need to do to get this off the ground, stats and such aren't even being considered. Right now, the list I gave above is all I want to focus on - baby steps Tongue

EDIT: Tweaked the FAQ above - this'll make a good jumping off point for when I make a dedicated topic.

Yeah having the three main races might be very cool Smiley Pirates are there too if you include them technically... Wink

The three races were always planned. I was thinking about including the pirates, but I can't really think of a way to balance them (they'd have to play differently to the other races to be worth inclusion) but couldn't think how to do this without making them either too desirable (e.g. being able to have all the ships) or just a poor choice (because they'd be lacking certain perks).

I do like Foreign Borders - will definitely consider that one.
