SF AD IS NOW IN EFFECT

The Ad to promote sf on facebook fan site and direct links to the download site and this forum has now been paid for and ordered as of today!!!!  I wish to thank Mistyknockers who also spent her time and money on this effort and everyone who was involved from Tribe players to the Outcast.   We need a much larger fan base for sf before 2.0 and this should help alot.    If you see new players help them all you can to learn sf and not to give up.   This is JUST ONE THING we are doing,  the really really BIG one starts when 2.0 is done.  Then well do some things that will really put the ball going. 

I hope the fan site explodes as well as SF.  This is a great day for SF and as soon as fb screens the AD it will go facebook wide until Misty stops it. 

All hail Stellar Frontier the Time has come to step up or ship out.   The ad and your support will either bring us up some or well have to take even more drastic measures.
IM hopeful that this will help alot.  Im not going nuts thinking this is the end all,  but this should really support sf and bring sf a fair fan base back for a while.  At least thats the idea.

Well even dreaded enemies Tribe came along and helped us get this going,  I have tried to get GB and Ace involved as well to help support sf in the quest to build a decent fan base but have been either rejected or ignored by both ace and gb,   if this ad works to help promote sf and we do get things moving i hope that the other fleets will abandon the excuses of the past and jump on board to help SF and SF only.

Ignoring helping SF shows you really dont give a crap about the game and being rejected to help is the same as not having even a few seconds of your time for the games support.

Dont be lazy in this effort,  were not just posting ads in facebook but Twitter and another site as well. 
We will either help SF or it will die.. im tired of going in empty servers and waiting till others show if they even do.   Why all the massive effort and work on 2.0 when you dont even have a clue how hard it will be to get a fan base without one to start with.

We dont have our hopes set too high.. but we do have hope for SF the game some of you claim to love.
Either Help now or get the hell out of our way.

When or if the numbers do come up,  dont go around saying you had a part in it..

OH Yeah this is a all out effort to get Sf going.  Be sure to thank Mistyknockers current leader of the OE for helping with this effort.  I thank you Misty this is awesome!!!

All players should be willing now to go the extra mile to tell their pals and friends to join the fan page and join SF.   ONLY THE GAME matters now we went 4 days this week with not one person on the game this must end or sf is dead.   

The promotions will go to at least three sites and altho i dont have huge expectations either as i dont know what a ad will even do,  i fully support this effort to at least try to bring sf back up. 
If you care at all about this game just do it!
lets get a fan base up to learn about SF 2.0 and lets get this game going.
I also wish to thank Tribe for its support and hope like mars said that the other fleets will drop their excuses and make this the time to help SF.

Hi everyone,

The ad on FB is live, I got the letter a bit ago.  It will be running on the right side at different points through the sight.  I have that running indefinately to see what comes of it.  The one on Multiplayergames.com is up for 30 days and it will also run at places that multigamers posts ads for games in their blogs.  A nice point about MPG is people can review the game and that could bring on more players as well.

I know there are people out there that want different and they don't want to play hack n slash kids games.  The mature gamer is who we are really looking for.

It's great all this you're doing, but shouldn't we wait until 2.0 is out to start promoting the game?

I mean, we have 1.4 running, but it's still the same old-same old with the lag issues and everything. 1.4 cannot compete with other MMO's that don't have such bad lag issues as we do.

i only somewhat agree, with out a fan base to start with it will be hard to get sf going with a few ads when nite is already asking for donations ads cost money and we are not planning to stop this effort,  we plan to keep it up regardless if it flops or not because sf is dead now.  the OE is all there is left really as far as numbers and the few others rarely play.   We want sf back and altho 2.0 using udp will be super for sure as we have all seen having some here to see it now like we have will be a bonus come time.. i have heard not one person say ... oh i dont like 2.0... everyone is waiting and expecting it.   our effort is to build back a fan base of persons who like older school games thats the targets were after now.  however come 2.0 it will be easy to change that.   We feel that its nuts to sit and wait around when we could be getting some kind of fan base now.   the sad part is ive been on the nexus for days now and no one ever comes becides a few OE and this must end.  those who love this game have taken it upon them selfs to spend their own moneys to promote it so that we can have our game back,  sure we wont see any big numbers but we will see some as now we have three ads going in various places and before long a week or two we should see some folks new or old come back and help ANY effort to save sf. 

so many say they love sf and do this and do that.. well now its time for some to prove it. 
were not going to let sf die.  period.

Since {ace} was brought up, let me clarify for the record that I have already explained via PM that I do not consider {ace} active at this point, which is why I did not think there was a point in having {ace} participate. I commend Mars and everyone else who's been involved in this for their hard work on behalf of the game.

Personally, I rather play 2.0 alpha day and night to help find issues and report them to the bug center, that way we put our grain of sand for the development of this game.

Truly, we need people to play this game, but first we need the game to be attractive, no matter how oldschool this game is.

I really see no point in advertising a crippled game that will cause many people to leave before the good stuff comes. Our efforts should actually be in designing the campaings, visual styles and so. Kind of a "marketing strategy".

yeah well then explain 1.1 when there was 1000 or more on the game.  crippled or not we played and it was good or stardock would not have bothered.

1.1 was popular in a time massive lag was a common thing. I say 'crippled' because to today's standards it is like fighting a F-22 Stealth Raptop with a WW2 P-90 Mustang

First the F22 is called the raptor and the mustang is called the p51.   Second sure lag is a issue compared to todays games for sure, however the ad's were targeted at old school players.   Third i test 2.0 as much as you do and am nearly emperor.

since your not paying for the ad and seem to only want us to stop trying to help sf,  i really wonder if you have the best interest in the game in mind.   As for me and mine chill.... I will continue to support sf.  OLD new or any other version. 

It only seems like your trying to taunt me or argue anyone trying to support the game or bring any numbers back Its funny Nite seems to think were doing the right thing,  why cant you jump on board and forget old rivals and support getting some numbers on this game.   Even after your "testing of 2.0"  will that help a single person get on?   many others are helping with testing.   We need a fan base.  With a O fan base i hope its you that provides the cash to place massive ads like stardock did.  Personally i commend you for your "testing"  however with no one to play or even learn about what is about to come of sf with 2.0.  you can test till your blue .. or green ... or the cows come home.. but with out players your not doing squat come release time. 

and third of all,  if you continue your quest vs anyone who is willing to spend their own cash to help sf, then its very obvious as would be to anyone reading that your grudge vs me or the OE matters more than any players on the NEXUS.


oh and last but not least.    Im asking as nice as i can for your help with the fan page bringing numbers to sf,  even if older players or old school players as word of mouth means alot in the gaming community.  I am offering to bury the hatchet with you just like we did tribe who is fully supporting this effort.   This effort is for SF and sf only there will be future time for us and any other quips you may have.  You may think this effort regardless of its outcome which may fail and may not,  is some childish excuse to rally what ever is left..     If sf was not worth saving why the hell are you testing?   If sf was not worth the effort to fix why are you testing? 

It must have been worth something or you would not bother. 

We are determined regardless of you or anyone else to do what ever it takes to spread the word of 2.0 new features and give them a taste of what sf is like.   

2.0 will be worth something too.   lets show them get a head start,  and bring this game back.
