Hey guys,
We're in the phase of development where it's bug hunting time, and the only way we're gonna fix them is if you find them and report them. The sooner we can find and fix bugs, the sooner it's going to be done, and we're not gonna release until we stop finding bugs and have time to put together things like a new nexus.
A lot of the recent bugs have been found with multiplayer playing with >1 players, so start up a lan server with your family/fleets and report any oddities you find.
The bugs are often easy to fix once we find them and can reproduce them, so make sure you figure out how to reproduce it easily. For instance, the bugs I found yesterday with not being able to refit and errant assignment after a starbase undocked somebody were quickly found by nite after I reported them.
With your help, we can finish this in 2010 and get people playing it again.

^ Supported. We are finding stuff that should be found via normal testing. Would be awesome if we can dedicate our time to development rather then having to test every nook and cranny at this stage. There are several bugs that need to be fixed, and we normally test to make sure it works, but don't mass test everything at this point (will do a large scale test during final stages.)
But any bugs, report them! Would be great for people to test whenever we release, even if its just an hour test each release, it can find bugs pretty quickly.

Well, couldn't really consider myself a tester since I'd only finish 2/4 games a week. To the point; finished a game yesterday night on the Arcean side on Mobious's server. Didn't really find anything ''unusual''. The only thing that was bothersome was that some ships disappeared from the battlefield. It only happened 3 times, 2 of them was a terran carrier and 1 time a drengin sb. While you almost killed it it won't die and 2 seconds later it disappears and you find him on the other side of the map. Probably something to do with my connection (160ping while wireless). Second problem you might find yourself to (or still my connection idk). While NOT targeting an enemy ship and shoot it, and than target the enemy ship just before (you know) it will die, will give the enemy ship its health and armor back. You can easily prevent this but against 3 AI ships it will be a hassle. This was actually the only problems I encountered yet. I'll try to set up my own server, to see if i get these 2 problems while having a low ping. But I'll do that later, i got a family to visit

I've actually seen the disappearing act recently too, and its' just a simple vanish, not a warp. Could be possibly that the ship has warped server side but that would mean a warp image, i would think. Not sure yet

I've noticed that... and this could be incorrect. but when a login timeout happens - sometimes an AI populates a human spot and although there is no one in the server, it will say there is one on. I have a 55mb log that must have it somewhere in there. Restarted and running again...

Also noticed you cant log in at least on vista with two different ships from a single network.
ie.. i have 4 machines on my network, hooters attempted to log in while i was already in the server on another pc on my network. the screen went back and locked up her machine.

Well i found a bug i think, i tried to use mantis but as usual the damm thing dont seem to work for me right, so its simple one but sure needs some fixing i think.
Normally in 1.4 i can zoom a shelid 4 scout thru the sun without blowing up
Today in 2.0 in a sheild 6 arc battleship i got like 3 inches away and blew up i dident stay near it for even a second and popped. i never got on the sun, never got close close to the sun just medium close for one second and popped. whats up with that? does the sun now do triple damage? even at a long range i tested it and took damage. there seemed to be zones much futher out than 1.4 was that do much more damage.

Oh right, Sun damage, forgot to include that in the /10 modifier value. (repair_frames) repair_frames also works for the self-d damage too.

Might have found an issue. Logged into Mobs 2.0 server and left my computer to make dinner etc. When I remembered to come back my computer put itself in sleep. When I started moving around again everything was super fast in order to try and catch up with the server I am guessing. Lasted a few min's before returning to normal speed. It was fun though .

Did it stay connected to the server? I bet the server booted you while you were away. But yes, if you were to freeze the game and start it later, it would go as fast as it could to catch up to where it thought it should be frame wise (64 frames * number of seconds it was asleep). Doing this fixed old bugs where we'd get out of sync because a frame would take too long to draw and we'd always be a frame behind. Now it accordions behind the scenes to keep up.
