interesting, needs rendered, but looks like a hoover. great for sucking up starbases, space junk and would make dyson proud.

I can see this being promising, although Sketchup is probably not the best way to start a 3d model...

Well for now it does, but that's the right nacelle of the Terran Scout, and its midsection....although I dunno where he came up with the idea for the top... |

it's my progress, i tried to make the wing on the left side, and i got the dimensions wrong, ima give it another go.
once i get that done i "mirror" it onto the other side, and add the cockpit/bridge.

terran dirt devil? grrr.  i'm having some trouble rounding off the tip of the cockpit, but otherwise, it's done. and i don't plan for these to be officially release ships, maybe just a "sf classic" mod for 2.0. |

rendred yes but you need to learn how to soften the edges still before render
how is simple
first use the point tool to make a square around it the ship turns blue
then open windows tab select soften edges and move slider till you start to burn and back off just a tad, then take out lines that are left click line say soften edges then
render it.
but its not bad for dang sure and once ... softened will look very nice indeed.

ive spent a lot of time doing this now and had a really good teacher from dallas whos a graphics designer who uses this and kerketha for sketchup and it will just take some time but yes that ship will look badd ass softened and then make the windows transparent maybe. but i like it.
