Hello, I'm new to the forum and online play. I have been playing it for yrs against the computer though. I was just wondering i was just now on the us server and got booted off and now theres 12 people in there and i cant get it. did I upset somebody or was it a scheduled private game? Also I'm concerned with how I'm gonna rank up being that all the ncp's are fleet captains and admirals and you have to start out with a cadet ship.
Welcome to the community Orion, we're happy to have you here. As for ranking up, it shouldn't be too difficult especially with your previous experience playing offline. Just kill a few AI ships and conquer the system a few times and you'll be able to fly a Frigate or Destroyer in no time. (Obviously, it'll take you longer to earn the bigger ships e.g. Dreadnought, but most players - even high-ranked ones - usually prefer to fly a Scout, Frigate or Destroyer anyway since they're more maneuverable.) If there's anything specific we can help you with, don't hesitate to let us know. Have fun!

The real thing what happens is the server slots get full in bug. Someone tries to connect, but they end up not being able to get on the server. There slot ends up never clearing, and it continues to do this until the server is full. It should be fixed in 2.0, but I wasn't able to replicate it enough in 1.4 as its completely random, more when the server has been up for days though.

New is good!
At the Historic civil war battle at Preston's Ferry Arkansas, the 13th Ark Inf, wiped out the largest naval force the Union had assembled in 2 years. Along the White River in SE Arkansas County, the Union assembled 41 ships and 4 heavy bombardment ships, equipped with the most modern cannons ever devised at that time. The Confederates had a fort build at the Ferry a large bend in the river that had been used by cotton farmers for 40 years. The Fort was heavy timber and had walls some 8 foot thick, they had two cannons a 5 inch Brooks, and a 13 inch heavy ivory, taken from the pirate ship, Adula Murphy.
The confederate gunner was a older gent and had a 16 year old helper named Sam Stem. Sam was slight and not in good health yet helped the old man load the 13 incher when the Union battle ensued.
The battle diden't start well for the Confederates when iron Clads snaked up the White river under fog, and the first few rounds out of the blue were well aimed and burst large areas of the fort into jagged wreckage, many were caught in their sleep.
The old gunner got off a few choice rounds and men were firing muskets in volleys of 1000's, several, Union boats were damaged and men were drowning everywhere.
Then the big Union heavys moved up close to the bank and intense one on one started between the fort and the Union ships, and in the Unions first unload, the old gunner was blown by a 5 inch in to space.
The Confederate Commander yelled to the boy Sam, can you handle her? as no one else knew how. The boy said hell yes! As he loaded the 13 and hit after hit, explosion one after another, perfect aim.
The river soon became a bath of blood for the Union as young Sam, had in such a rout, made wheel houses into cindered craters. Bodies floated full side by side. The Confederate child had saved the day and taken out 13 Union ships of the line! Later, His great great grand child "Trucker", lives down the road from me, and hes a darn good shot too.
Moral of true story : Anyone can make a comeback, New is good man.
