Are the ships already made into sprites? What are you asking for exactly?

I think Mars was talking about adding them into *_bmp_ships.sec and *_design_ships.sec

yes the issue is ren was able to re add the ships that were done (fighters) to the OE main files so that in any OE server ran the fighters come up,  however we are having issues getting the other ships filmstripped right black backgrounds added and that green trace of each ship we cant figure out how that is done at all or if that has to even be in there.   if cyco or anyone wants copys of the finished ships and the current mod please let me know ill be happy to let anyone look at it,  Ars did a fantastic job!!! finishing the fighters and getting them going for the mod but now we have the other ships done we are having some issues LOL.

Wait, so you're having issues with the graphics for them looking all glitchy?

If you already have them rotated on a filmstrip, try using the fill tool on the background, 0 0 0 RGB

I had to do this on all of my sprites, or else they would turn strange colors and be semitransparent.

Making SF ship graphics for 1.1x to 1.4x is a real bitch. They MUST be in 8-bit 256 color, and very few programs actually write that format to SF's liking.

You can use local color pallets to avoid ugly sprites, but paint seems to just shift colors to their nearest fixed-pallet and make it look like shit.
Once you set a local pallet, though, further edits are somewhat restricted, and certain colors will end up being shades that already exist in the image.

XnView has proven useful for me whenever I wanted to convert a high color image to a 256 color one, while preserving most of the quality (especially with Floyd Steinberg dithering) and output images with a minimum size

well tomorrow if anyone is around ill have the ships in jpg or png format ready for resize color and filmstrip if anyone is interested in some of the ones ive drawn already for the OE server.   one of the big problems is for the life of me i cant figure out how to do the black backgrounds worth a crap,  since ive finally found the correct engine for drawing and high def rendering just sketchup say if you draw a box around the ship and color that it cuts the bottom of the ship out and for some reason i havent been able to figure out how to do the box below the ship instead of in the middle of it.. but im working on it LOL..  at least the art work is good now..

Too bad, iirc, that 1.4x doesn't support PNG.

2.0 does.

Do you have the ship model? Can it be opened in blender? I could try rotating and rendering it.

I'm trying to work out the technique to automate the process and make things go along quicker.

2.0 does.
I said, if Mars was going to upload the pictures he should save them as PNG. I know they have to be converted to BMP again to be used with 1.4
