one of the admins has told us that we can not use f12 in our server or probley in any server the OE plays in thus the personal attacks of the admin we risk about former games or former exploits that he wishes to make personal.


to keep on topic

it is now OE law and a vote will be taken by the senate that no OE under penalty of being fired will use the provided F12 button because the admins here have decided the OE cannot use it in our server.


Warning now do not use f12 in any server if your a OE  if your not a OE please feel free to get all the points  you want and go f12 all you want cause then he will only gripe at the server not you personally and he sure wont bring up the past or anything about you so feel free.   

you will risk being called a cheater or farmer   We could word the vote for all OE players to break off your f12 key and send it to chillfactor as he doesnt have any proof and needs some keys.


nite was a nut putting f12 in the game because it is now being used to ban OE players from the bathroom or a play break of any kind.   funny i just found a old post where chill praises nite for the work on the f12 LOL.. i guess admins live by different rules than players. LOL.


do not go f12 for any reason so this admin will not have grounds to gripe that we are F12 anywhere.
since he does not have a screen snot of anyone in the OE afk in our server or anyother server and because i wont go F12 with the button two days ago blackdog logged in and killed me several times while i was drifting in space after i had announced i was afk , i told him what a shit he was for doing that but he just said use the f12 key thats what it was made for,  i guess if one admin says one thing and another says another then you just need to dig much deeper into it. huh...

why do you want to bicker chill?  its baby talk.    either talk about koth or shut up.   if you cant tell someone how to fix what you bitch at than your part of the problem.

since no one is allowed by the admin to use afk in koth server for anyreason can you some how fix the new issue of how to stop a spawn killer like bd from doing that when you post AFK in the chat box?

can anyone else who is a admin please clear this up because he is making this a very big deal.

the subject is koth and nothing else, altho he has attacked me personally in his last post.   if this is how the POLICE act then by all means you the fuzz man.


f12 is now forbidden by all OE pending a senate vote. 

using any key that nite made to help the game may be also suspect.
be sure that  your not being followed by the admin who never goes in your server.

never use F12  always say im away from the keyboard and do it in at least 3 languages so the admin knows your afk  if they spawn kill you anyway its cause they cheat.   we are no longer allowed to use any afk in koth period. 

also be aware that since he gripes about afk in koth yet wont tell anyone how to undo nites fixes to sf than he is better than nite at programing and he will issue you a new key to press when he feels like it.


koth is a non afk server if you get caught afk ....sad for  you.  oh that goes for deep space afk too. 

hit afk and your a cheater.  now were abusing nites buttons LOL..  server, me, buttons get  your story right.

yep we now really miss the old stellar cafe you will have to add that back to sf because now the f12 key is not to be used in koth or by the OE or anyone else for that matter cause if they sit in sol even and conor it with 9 folks in there and one is afk to the bathroom chill says your cheatin ... that you got gain while being f12 ... and if it only applies to the OE servers then

you have a lot of explaining to do to the sf players who use f12
or a lot of programing to do to re ad the cafe which btw no points could be got while inside it.

or

chill just hates me personally with him attacking my persona   koth was the topic fair would have been to expain how to disable his f12 key and stop the gripe.   the OE server has never been and never will be a CLOSED server my router settings i will gladly publish on demand. 


one of the four im confused but i will mail you my f12 key and the f12 keys of all OE players if you will please ask him to get the heck off my ass.   sir.


I am not cheating he has not posted one screen shot period.  and the last thing i say tonight is this...

the subject was koth not me.    every mod on sf has belittled the effort to help sf to make new ships when you had no one to add them when that failed to our server as you ask we do,  now we cant even go pee.    why does the rules for the mods never include the OE ... not one time.  ever.

I'm not sure what servers you're playing on, but if you're going to be AFK for a few minutes why not dock with the starbase?

The AFK button, aka F12, Can be used in green light condition only (No enemies around.). I don't get why this is a issue for people? I don't intend to keep AFK on while you're in combat. It's easy to run off a few and use it.

Coming back from F12, you can't fire for some time. I think that's alright overall.

I'd really like to know the warp bug regardless.

If the F12 can be abused VIA in combat (aka moving far enough for green signal.) we need to fix it. I also realize that the bigger the screen you have, the worse the yellow/red combat lights get becuase I think it's based on screen size. I'll be fixing that though.

Regardless, there should be some negative on using it, like lowered shields, or something like that Wink

It's alright, I'll find it on my own. Thanks anyways. I don't think QPark or QLaunching should be in, mainly because there bugs that weren't fixed if anything that people abuse. Regardless you'd never be able to use it on a 2.0 nexus'd server either.

There 'is' a AFK button, it works within 10 seconds of moving away if you are in RED ALERT mode. If you need a quick run (Something crazy happens), normally hitting the `D key` aka your starbase, is a alternative solution which tends to work for a few minutes (As starbases hardly die)

I don't understand how it's such a bug.

What about changing course back and forth between planets and still dropping right on top of someone?

What's wrong with just being able to go into Q and remain stationary? Why can't it be used as an ambush tactic? You realize that you can detect someone before they even begin to drop out of Q, correct?

People can select me from the target window, hit F, and they'll float around under me, and of course their proximity sensor will be red.

Actually, yellow and red alerts are a bit farther than screen size. I've played on 1440x900 and 1600x900 and same thing happens. I see enemies on the map but not the screen passing by and it goes yellow, they pass by my screen and its yellow, they get real close (3-5 ships away) and it gets red.

Sitting in Q has always been a problem/issue

In Q most people often repair there shields/etcs so they can get another full volley. It's often used as a cheap escape route, making people impossible to kill, specially trying to kill a larger ship, unless you pretty much one volley him with mines or something similar. More or less there shields are almost dead, they QPARK, repair, and fight again. Cheap avoidance, afker, etc.

There is also a system to jump ontop of targets too, it's called CLOAK. QPARK is pretty much a cheap version of cloak where you're invincible and it just causes alot of problems... Prox (RED ALERT) maybe shouldn't be red during warp, I'm thinking.

Ways to solve some issues involve having a delay before warping, or a delay per use, that only solves some of it. Like subspace, they make you WARP OUT before warping back in, with the above (a delay of some sort) this could work pretty well. Small ships would have no delay, bigger ships get a larger delay, regardless even just having to warp out to shift positions would be enough. That could be a possibility. I'm not really sure at this time.  Huh

And yeah I'll make red/yellow some sort of static value that can be set per map.

I don't think F12 needs a delay, but it needs some negative use other then just not being able to fire for 10 seconds, like eating your shields or some junk. So it's not used in combat, specially if we make warpout of ehave no RED ALERT to solve problems. (IF we do that.)

Though a better idea might be to remove that whole feature of checking for red alert, and having it so you cant use your controls for 10 seconds before activating F12.. Or a mix between RED ALERT and 5-10 seconds delay after FIRING only rather then all the controls.
