I was wondering if there might be a way to rearrange the order of server listed on the nexus?  I would prefer it to organize them in order to lowest ping on top to highest ping on bottom.  I am a rather impatient  man and don't like waiting the extra seconds for laggy or fire walled servers to time out (go into Huh? mode) so I can join one below.  This was something that always frustrated me and I wondered why it was not sorted this way in the past.  If it can not be done in 1.4, I suggest at least making a filter or toggle so list the servers in this way for 2.0.

I know this is a minor thing compared to what needs to be done.  But why not bring it up now  Cheesy?

I too am frustrated with how firewalled servers delay the server listings by 15 seconds, so I'm agreeing with Blackdog on this one.

Sure, reduce the timeout. and make it ping multiple servers at once? not sure if the 2nd thing is efficient.

Well, first of all, we'll be using a new nexus portal to do download/connects/viewing profiles/chatting/etc. It will be a nice little app that drops you right in game with no delays. So we'll be recoding it from scratch, this area, anyways.

For server pings, you can't really have it rearrange the order UNTIL it pings all servers once (you can do it dynamically, but you can't make it ignore servers that don't respond, because the nexus doesn't know this.) So no matter what its delayed on a server that's lagging.

However, the reason is because it has a 15 second timeout, which is stupid. Anything over 1 second is unplayable in any game, aka 1000MS. So when checking, if it checks more then half a second (You got to remember, a full trip is back and forth, so if a server gives you a 200MS ping, its about 100MS sent, and 100MS to receive.) then stop pinging the server and write 999+MS.

I'm not going to be touching 1.4, but we'll fix this in 2.0.
