I think that we all will agree that the music for SF 1.4.x is amazing, thanks to our resident composer, Admiral Tiger Claw.
However, something that has always made me laugh was that a lot of the newer songs (not the recreations of the old music) are very heavily influenced by popular games and modern music artists. This isn't bad thing, it's just kinda
amusing.
There are two songs I noticed in particular, and I don't have any problems with the songs, and one of them isn't in the current package anyway.
The first is the song Solar Sailing. It's a good, New Age-y sounding song that, while long, really don't grow old during it's play. It does, however, seem to scream "Enya" during its entire play time, and it is, in fact, very similar to the Enya song Orinoco Flow.
The second that stands out to me is the song Zero-G REaction. It, after replaying Halo: Combat Evolved, sounds like a part of the music when you're in the Truth and Reconciliation. In particular, in
this song. Skip ahead to 0:53 if you want to hear the "good stuff."
