One thing the Frying Pan told me was unused code existed in the EXE that would of added a "Fleet Manager" to go along with the Player Manager, but nobody bothered to add the button & it's info it would of supplied. Now there may only be like 7-8 fleets in existance, but lets not talk about that right now...

A Fleet Manager will show the current fleets in SF, the adding and removing of fleets from the registry should be done by a Nexus Admin.

If a player were to be in a fleet, he/she would have some sort of rank to signifiy he/she is IN a fleet, and it can be shown on their profiles:

Code:
Email           <EXAMPLE>
LastAccess      <Not even a stat>
FirstName       Jane
LastName        Doe
Age             24
Sex             Female
Score           125298
Kills           15588
Losses           963
TimeOnline      2092983
SF Rank            9
Fleet Rank         Captain
Credits         500000000
OSString        Win98 SE

And the concept of a fleet profile:

And the possible identifier of a person IN a fleet in a scenario:

If someone is a "Leader/CinC" or something that is the highest rank in the fleet, they should have at LEAST the power to add or remove somebody from the fleet, and define a member's rank.

Great idea if people don't abuse it and drive said "nexus admin" wild with changing fleets every day.
I'd say we have some sort of in-game rank requirement to start a fleet.
That way a bunch of randoms aren't creating fleets on aliases and such.

I'd like to see that, since it'll make handling ppl within fleets A LOT easier...

That also helps with fleet rules, since you can now give or take rank, remove inactive players and (a good addon would be) setting diplomatic status with other fleets...

There is some fleet information present in the code, most of it has been commented out from what I remember. Now in terms of bothering an admin, I'm sure it could be managed eventually all online to make it easier. I've almost got a player manager all set where you can log in to update password and character information as well. I really do enjoy the idea though for something to be fully implemented down the road a bit. I check out the code for it a bit closer in the coming days.

Yeah, I think there is nothing at all but a basic interface for it, theres no coding or anything that I can see. Just a couple buttons and a listbox ready for the coding.
In the end it will be a nice addition when we do this anywho, and the whole adding it below the name would be fine. This be mobious turf. Tongue
