**MAKE A NEW POST IF YOU WISH TO COMMENT ABOUT BUGS/SUGGESTIONS**

**UPGRADE LINK WILL UPDATE 1.3.0 or 1.3.1 to 1.3.1.1**

1.3.1.1 solves some more issues and hopfully the crash issue.
===

Please read 1.3.0 topic for some changes if you are new to 1.3.*.. Additionally, view the devlog at http://stellarfrontier.net/devlog.php !
1.3.1.1 is still BETA.

This should solve some crashes, and some additional features have been added. For the most part, it solves a a few crashes with disconnects, and adds a extra feature, which prevents the same user from logging on with the same name twice. Also a few things like some SB tweaks, and solving the current .dat files which had an issue where you could not change a ship after a SB.

Another thing as well, though some are stating the SB's are too strong, there not too strong. A player SB vs a AI sb, the player SB always wins as long as he knows what he is doing, aka autofire. I reduced the starbase damage even more. You must remember the AI SB is the main ship which allows repairing, call it the 'super starbase' if you will Wink

For the full devlog, again, go to http://stellarfrontier.net/devlog.php and check out the list..
Please stop asking questions or saying something does not work if you have NOT read the devlog. Seriously guys, some issues could of been solved yourself or you could of understood what was changed, if you actually visit the page and read for 5 minutes. Hell, I even created a 1.2 to 1.3 mod upgrade instructions on the .net website.

-Note: There are still a couple crashes, sometimes occuring when you try to login, (Been like this since 1.2), As stated before, this will be fixed in the future. Might be some other minor crashes too, but nothing that should hinder the game while playing, hopefully.

===

This version should be more stable, however, it is NOT compatiable with users playing with 1.3.0. Think of 1.3.0 as obsolete. Until we get a stable working version, this may occur a couple times where you cannot just play with a lower version. So upgrade to 1.3.1.1 now!

UPGRADE 1.3.0/1.3.1 to 1.3.1.1: http://stellarfrontier.net/SF1.3.1.1.zip ... Simply put the files in the SF directory.
FULL PACKAGE - 1.3.1.1: http://stellarfrontier.net/SF1311SETUP.exe ... Full installation if your having issues...
JAVA UPGRADE: Just wait for Mobious to get it up,  he will post it when it's ready. You'll be able to upgrade via in game.

I'm well aware there can be more bugs, but this is the first step on keeping SF more stable then in 1.3.0. Thanks.

The java update utility should have it there now. It really makes it simple to update. I do not plan on adding a full 1.3.1 version download so if you are updating from 1.2.x you will need to do the full 1.3.0 download followed by the 1.3.1 update. Everything else on there should be self explanatory but let me know if you have any questions.

I updated via client and I'm getting a "Wrong Version" message when I try to log into a server.
Could it be the server is using the wrong version?

Also crashes on exit after that.

Also... game crashes on upgrade, but it appears as though the upgrade goes through.

Double Post, sorry, but...

The MP3 player seems to still "play" even when it's set to OFF after stopping a offline scenario, its very low volume but it still plays unless I toggle it on & off. It also does this when I fire up SF.

I'll check it out, might be due to the new mp3 system for the sound.

Yeah sometimes a crash does occur after exiting, i'll figure that out.... It's nothing to do with the upgrade.

It shouldn't be that the server is using a wrong version, perhaps mobo forgot to update the server file? Get the patch file then here and check it out? You can check the server version when you run the server.exe... It should say 1.3.1... You cannot go in games with 1.3.0 however. Only 1.3.1..

Edit: I checked the java files, it's just fine. Perhaps you had the server running when trying to upgrade? Or you are trying to log a 1.3.0 server.

I'll fix the mp3 thing and just release a subversion, aka one you dont' have to upgrade too but it's good to have since it solves stuff.

As for the crash, I'm not sure why it's doing it now, it never does it on mine until I actually install it. Though the files are the same vs my debugger. Wierd bug.

Fixed the mp3 player..

The crash is to do with the profile, not sure why exactly it just 'started' doing this, but 1.3.1 update seems to cause it, checking now.

Working on it now for the crash...

Edit; Apparently it's to do with the profile being too large because of the new things such as the options menu. I'll see what I can do.

If servers are running 1.3.0 then they are not compatible with 1.3.1. The upgrade does work fine even if the game crashes on exit, I did notice that as well. I'll have SFDC sol up today.

Yeah it has to do with the profile. Been trying to solve it now, for example:
If you delete the sf.prf, and create an account, then exit, it's all fine.
The bigger the profile, for example, add 127.0.0.1 to "Play on Local Internet"..  then hit cancel, it will work the first time.. However, if you run it again, and exit, it gives errors.

ok question if i upgrade to 1.3.1 will this work to make col's stick to the moons of uranus?  as well as will i be able to run my server without a lot of tech file replacing?  i totally understand that this is all being still worked on so im not in any rush, im just wondering how hard will this be for nubies to get on with one install?   will the full upgrade file do this without file replacements ect?  kinna shakie about doing the upgrade to 1.3.1 if it involves trying to explain to the several folks that have the game that ive given it too that now they have to replace the prf file ect. when they are programming nubies also. ?

There will be a few files in the dat folder that will be replaced due to bugs that were being worked out. These mainly deal with modules and with the beginner's sol. The main server dats are not affected. The full upgrade will be like the 1.3.0 install and you will be good to run when you complete it. The sf.prf crash only occurs when the client is exiting so they will not have any crashes during gameplay related to it. I would suggest having them use the java updater and just do the Update to Stellar Frontier 1.3.1 option.

If your not techy just either get the full install or just use the upgrade button in SF. the rest is done for you.

There are updates, but we will update the files for you via the upgrade button, etc.

If the profile is invalid, it will create a new one automatically. All you need to do is readd your character, which is simple.

I've got some stuff I'm sending to Mantis... however I only managed to put down one, then noticed/remembered the other two, and Mantis kept telling me my security token's bad, ("Did you try to submit the form twice?"   Uh... no, this is an entirely different form.)
