Every now and then I get kicked from a server due to the RAM cheat being detected (more often than not my own server!).

I had to look up what a RAM cheat was, and logically it is when you edit the variables in your RAM presumably to give yourself more credits/points/kills.

The fact that I had to google it tells you that I haven't ever used this cheat, yet I'm regularly getting accused of it by the game. It's irritating because it doesn't save my score for that session when it happens.

Any tips on how to fix this? Are any of you having this problem?

I'm running 1.3.1.1 on Vista

Yeah I do know about that, it happens on 1.2 as well to some users, not sure exactly why.

Are you doing anything when this happens, there might be a pattern that we might be able to solve?

Different mod or same one? etc?

The use of certain lag-based exploits (notably the F9 bug that allows one to shoot off a rapid stream of grenades or other energy-intensive/low-quantity weapons) can lead to a 'RAM cheat' being detected.

I'm not doing anything notable when it happens that I know of, and it has happened in a few different mods. It seems to happen more often on servers I run, where lag is almost non-existant.

Next time it happens I'll make note of what I was doing.

Ok thanks, and apologizes. I know this bug has plagued around for awhile now, I used to get it on my old computer with 1.2.. Not sure exactly why either, but then again back then I didn't really pay attention. If you see it a couple times make note of it and see what you can dig up, after some information is given we can figure out what is really happening.

If you 'ARE' running different mods.. Make sure there up to par with 1.3.0 changes, as 1.2 to 1.3 have some different changes, which could be affecting something. If you are running the standard mods that come with the game, then disregard what I said. More or less, there are some changes that need to be done to make it 1.3 compatiable, which there is a 'update log' which can be found at http://www.stellarfrontier.net ..

This can happen alot with added weapons/modules/ships or such that are not added properly, just to say as well.
