It was brought to my attention tonight by player that pressing "D" to dock, automatically sends you to the "Refit" tab on the Navigator. They didn't like it, and said that it wasn't that way before 1.3. I don't know if that's true or not, nor do I find it a problem myself, but I figure if others are having bothers with it, perhaps it's worth putting on the table for possible changing.

Pros/Cons that I can think of...

Pro: When you log in or are killed, pressing "D" after respawn will not only get you docked, but put you on the right path to a refit...

Con: When you are going back to dock in order to regen shields, armor, tubes, etc, you lose your target/planet/colony or whatever it is you were looking at before.

I'm kind of on the fence about it. Never really thought about it. Usually I orbit to replenish, and I dunno if that takes you away from your screen... It may, come to think about it. Anywho, just bringing it up like I said.

We're planning a full overhaul of the system there... If you've ever played the mechwarrior games... the intuitive nature of the equipment loudout selection screen is what we're going for in the future.

But D is for docking.. In 1.2 it actually hits the refit tab from what I remember. I think the change is it loads the refit screen as well. I thought that was the nature of docking. :x

Why use D if your not going to dock, rather? As for the target system, it still has whoever you targetted in the bottom, from what I've seen.  In any case, I can make it go to 'target view' after undocking. But then you'd have to click the tab to go back to your systems.. Since undocking goes to the systems.

But I still think that is unneeded.. When you hit D,  you are aiming to REFIT. The target is still selected, and when undocking, hit T, to go to the target screen... I thought that was more proper then how it was... Anyways. I mean, your target stays locked even when refitting, so hitting T for target, sets the screen to target mode again.

So in general, the target is still selected from what I see, it's just not in target view.  What does everyone think? It might of been a minor change, but I though in general this ways more 'clean' and proper.
