**UPGRADE LINK BELOW IN THIS POST WILL UPDATE 1.3.0-1.3.2.1 to 1.3.2.2**In 1.3.2 upgrade: If you haven't seen this message then read now! I have made a mistake with the files, the two new MP3 files are in a MP3 folder which is incorrect. You will need to move these to the MUSIC folder. I have updated the exe and the zip file to reflect on this, sorry for the mistake! This does NOT reflect on 1.3.2.1 or 1.3.2.2I'll start making a clean upgrade package next update. We'll basicly leave about 4-5 versions in one update.===
1.3.2.2 Changes:
-Changed bombs a tad. There are now two types (more in future?)... In previous versions, they did a bit harder damage then they should, and about 3 colony supply points per bomb hit. The new bomb 'fatman' (Yeah we'll rename this later.) is 3400 damage per hit, and is similar to the previous bomb, (Which was 4000 per hit.) with the same amount (12).. The second is just 'bomb', which has 24 bombs, and does 1800 damage. The difference? The 'bomb' only does one colony point damage while the fatman does 3. It is calculated by dividing the damage by /1000 and that is your supply points damage for now.
-Rapids range reduced. This was to solve attack AI issues. Instead of increasing ship ai attack range (Which I feel would be too insane because there range is already high, don't need Ai trying to fire at you from half a map away.). Basicly, they are now JUST at range of a starbases guns, so you can still attack it, but you need to move a bit here and there.
-Starbase damage reduced to 20%, and population damage increased to 85%.
-Crash Issue: The colony design file was incorrect, I had to solve a few things. It now works properly and you can set low/medium/high for colonies.
-AI in protect mode will attack incoming ships in there range. This is only valid if you set the AI level to medium or high.
-Planets will now attack you if you are nearby and in there space instead of waiting for you to fire. (As good as colonies fire.. Currently, which is slow.) They will only call for help if blockaded or fired apon.
-Remove smart missiles from Starbase until new missiles are added. Added one more tractor (One per side now.)
-Added coding to hopfully solve AI being stuck. There is now a timer on them and they 'should' leave the starbase in 15 seconds if they do not leave after upgrades or spawning. There should be a message in the log about it if it does occur.
-Constants changed. Max ships 200 (I'd suggest staying a few below this though. As well too laggy currently.) Decrease some constants to reduce lag (based on SandTroopers heavy mod!)
This version is still compatiable with other 1.3.2 versions, but it is required to at least be 1.3.2.1 due to the memory leak issue from the new logger that was added. As well, the full client will properly install if you already have installed now. Before it just checked for 'add file if not there', which can cause issues.
Some key features changed for 1.3.2:
-Server will not disallow entry via "You are already connected!", instead, it will boot the OLD connection, and let in the new connection. This should solve irritation when it states "You are connected" when something happens, such as you get dced off your net, etc.
-Docking should HOPEFULLY be solved. ATC and I did some heavy testing on this, and after a day of being online with no dock issues, twice, hopefully is now solved. AI will not get stuck anymore either.
-The loggers now work after recoding the whole logging system.
For Server Logging: If you are using the upgrade link for server.conf, I've set the logging to -logconsole .. Which will only log the console screen (AKA logins, kicks, etc.) -logall or -logfile should only be used for debugging purposes, as it creates huge logs, as it did before. As well, it will not create useless logs in the .dat folder anymore to clog that up. -lognone as always, will log nothing. Console logging is logged in console.log, and debugging is in server.log.
For Client Logging: As for client, use -log when starting the exe file, and it will log as it did previously. If no -log is specified, it will log none. Best to keep it to none unless you are modding and need to figure out some stats on your mod, or AI moderation. This file is frontier.log.
-The pointer while upgrading will not reset anymore, for quick modding.
-The bottom panel has been recoded, and now will not lose information/blank out, and will update properly while selecting objects.
-Cloak has been changed slightly, and you can now warp while cloaked. As well, two new cloaks have been added:
Phase: A quicker cloak/uncloak, but has a low capacity.
Patrol: Which has a large capacity, but takes up more ship space.
We will tweak them as we go.
Cloak also has two more params, which modders will have to add in there mods.
-Two new MP3s' added, by ATC.
-New background files, and sf-backXXXX. As well, removed stars from the sf-guiXXXX files.
-Few bugs solved, like autofire + fire extra bug, ghost ship, infinity cloak, etc. As well, lots of new characters to choose from for your ship name, and user names now allow spaces!
-And much more..
View the devlog at
http://stellarfrontier.net/devlog.php to view the whole list of changes! Remember, if you are a modder, you will want to read the upgrade center on how to get your mod to work with the latest version, located at
http://stellarfrontier.net/1.3update.php !
1.3.2.2 is still BETA. Hopefully will be out of beta this time!
Please stop asking questions or saying something does not work if you have NOT read the devlog. Seriously guys, some issues could of been solved yourself or you could of understood what was changed, if you actually visit the page and read for 5 minutes.
-Note: There are still some minor crash issues, but I cannot solve these until I can get the exe's in a proper debugger.
This version is not compatible with 1.3.1.1 or under!Hopefully this will finally nullify 1.2.x versions. If all is well. If there are bugs and issues, report them ASAP and I will release a patch. It's very hard to test with only myself or one more. We need field testing!
