Looks pretty cool!

I made a perhaps template for the terran design. It's my first time actually using a 3D program, (and photoshop for some touchups) But I think I failed pretty miserably. I don't really like it, but note theres no textures on it anyways. Though I changed the lights to blue, since there more terran-like, and I think the lighting effects may work, either just a blink or a rotate, like I'll show above. But yeah, the little white stuff is windows, which I failed as well!

Perhaps someone else can use this as a template.. Or something I don't think it's really great. Needs work anyways, but it was kinda half quick/testing things in it.

That looks great as far as im concerned, maybe just a tad bit darker though on the center and the rotary panels.

I'd put the blinking lights on top of the domes.

What blinking lights are, are 'there is something here'.  Like the wingtip lights on aircraft, or the flashing lights on antenna towers.

So for a colony, the lights being the top of the highest points on a colony to let low flying aircraft and such know where it is in the dark would seem more logical.

Yeah I know, I was just atm trying to get the same 'taste' kind of Tongue mmm..

This is an idea for a Drengin Colony. The lights are kinda crappy but we can set them to flash differnetly etc (So that both lights flash at the same time sometimes, so it looks random) More or less showing them blink right now and thats all.. Tongue

Edit: Yeah no texture either, I think it would look nicer with some sorta metal feel Tongue

I think the Terran colony's design is supposed to rise up like a dome or something, it looks too flat, maybe try raising the middle of it and make the panels slant down from the top.

The blades on the Drengin colony should be green. Try finding tutorials for making things look "metal" in Photoshop, it might help get the look you are looking for...

Ah WTH, lemme show you my crappy attempt at the Drengin Colony, I stopped working on it because I'm craptastic and can't do s**t at 3ds Max 5.

We need the Space Colony made.

I'm thinking something of a cross between HALO's ringworlds, and gundam colony rings/cylinders.

Something of a giant torus with the inner half transparent, spokes going to the middle housing some kind of arteficial sun mechanism, and then a cylinder off to the side along the rotational axis that acts as a spaceport/docking center.

(One thing I've always had trouble with believing in HALO, is how the ringworlds and the Ark maintain an atmosphere.  The ringworlds have centrifugal force working for them, but it just doesn't seem like it would work so well on gas.  And the Ark, well, I don't even fathom how it holds an open atmosphere.

Forrunner tech I guess, but sheesh.)

Hrm, looks like for texture I'll need the texture to be wider/longer to be able to see from a small distance. Shouldn't matter really though.. Dunno why I'm bothering since you cannot really see that from top down.

P.S. I don't know what your speaking about so you shuold throw some examples atc:P
