Sorry, but does anyone know why I can't access the BattleShip? I have the proper rank. Then...I stopped the game when I had achieved the required rank and chose battleship. When the game started the first time it froze. The second time I got a freighter. The third time the BattleShip simply wasn't an option. Can anyone help me? I'm really psyched about using a battleship. PLEASE!. Thanks!
PS: I'm using version 1.3.3

There has always been some wierd issues with the rank system and 1.2 etc. The random crashes also happen which won't be solved until a new game engine will be in. As for rank, what 'rank' do you have? What is your score and kills at? Sometimes theres a wierd occurance when you are 'close' to the rank or just over, and it seems to not give you the ships becuase your rank is different. Let me know though then we can work together on solving it  I haven't worked on the ranking system because its not really great, more garbage then anything, needs a huge change... Was going to redo the whole stat system however, if I can throw in a minor fix for the issue above I'll do that before  (1.3.4 has a vast amount of bug fixes solved too, one more patch to 1.3.4 to follow too I think.)

OK, yeah, basics are like such 1234 kills, and 10,07 score. Enough for commodore rank, right? Problem is, I got a temporary commodore rank with 1100-1200 or so kills and 9,779 score. It disappeared, and I racked up some more to achieve the commodore rank, until I got to the rank right there. I played some more and then the commodore rank became permanent, at around 1270 kills and 10,200 score. Wierd, isn't it?
The Marauder was replaced by the Frigate, which was something new to me. And The beginner Sol System always crashes my computer. Also, In every Map except basic Sol System (and Sirius which I haven't played on the new version yet), planets magically transport after a certain time to different places. Like in the Drengin Invasion, Earth and Luna just disappear after about half an hour of gameplay and reappear between Mercury and Venus. It's version 1.3.3

Yes theres a bug in the beginners sol system which will be fixed in the next patch. I think it IS fixed in 1.3.4.1, however, I've made more modifications to it. And yeah marauder was made for paying customers back then, its was overpowered, basicly a dreadnought with scout abilities to manuver, its now a frigate, simply because I still wanted to use the 'speed' type ship but not be so powered in weapons. And yeah, the orbit bug offline is an annoyance.. Mobious was assigned to this one to play around with it but never happened. I lowered the rotation speed but I may just turn this off to 0. Basicly open up the SCN files and set the planet gravity to 0. It should be at 50 or 5 or something like that. I'll probably take over this bug though however because Mobious is super busy. But it probably won't be fixed until 1.3.5 possibly, it's a very very NASTY bug. What's happening is planets are actually falling off of orbit, and resetting because there to far away. I'm not too sure why they just didn't make them rotate through a simple rotation rather then use gravity type rotation for planets, because there 'always' orbiting anyways. But either or yeah, it's a dirty bug indeed. About the ranking, yeah definatly, thats what I thought would happen. It seems to promote you but when checking, if your too 'close' to the required rank, it will demote you next time you login until you actually are more far enough. But we are really working on a better stat system, one that can be more involved and interesting. The game had tons of bugs in 1.2, and some accidents of my own in 1.3.0 because I did not know the coding as much as I do now. But just keep letting me know  .

OK, gotcha, thanks. Hey, I want to change the number of AI so it's a more exciting 80 ship battle. How would I go about doing that? The current limit seems to be 10 per race and 2 for the pirates. Huh... And how can I change my rank to Deity without having to play through like 500 games? It's really annoying to have to kill hordes of ships and win maps over and over to gain rank.

You can change what 'req ranks' in the sf_data_ranks.sec file. As for race changes, you need to up it in the SCN/DAT main file, for example the server.dat and the server.scn file, and as well in the sf_data_races.sec file for the default sol maps. Other maps will require other race file changes, open up the main scn/dat file to see what file you need to edit. When you open up sf_data_races you'll see a AIPOP which you can change, currently its is set to 10/10/10/2... Make sure you up the value in the server.dat/server.scn to reflect the AIpop, else you have randomness. It's like this for a couple special reasons but I'll tell about that another time

Use textpad.. textpad.com. Alternative you can open it in notepad, but it hink alot of the files look wierd in notepad. Basicly if you DL textpad. Open textpad Drag and drop the file into textpad. Edit.

Right-click on the file and go down to 'open with...' then select notepad

if you actually learn how to mod good, you could make a ship with 32750 volume, goes a speed of 1.00c, has uber instakill weapons, super shields, unlimited power, a super cloak, super boosts, etc. (i.e. called a farm server/ship, and its very looked down upon)
EDIT: i am currently working on a mod, where if you are Emperor, you get special "Imperial" class ships, they are like super ships, i have made a starcruiser and battleship, i will also be making a scout, and a starbase/defender type ship(1 weapon slot, 32.75k volume, specially made to use a heavy shield)

Of course its looked down apon. This is the reason why I am going to be doing mod approved servers for nexus. *shrug*  Also there was no need to top this. We know you are making uber powered stuff. Pretty obvious  It isn't hard to make a stupid easy powered ship, its hard to make a mod thats actually balanced, specially with the current options you have.

yeah i am making uber powered stuff, but on the scale of OP from 1 to 10, 5 being balanced and 10 being instakill, they are between 5 and 7. besides, its fun when you come across a destroyer with a mega cannon and comes and 1-shots my Oppressor when im low on shields.

No offense but putting mega cannons on a destroyer does not make it balanced. lol.
