Version misread

i just installed the game using the 1341 installer, but it is saying my version is 2.6... how do i fix that? :| downloaded the installer off stellarfrontier.net just a few minutes ago

If you mean the "Upgrade Available (version 2.6)" message, just disregard that message. You should still be able to select and enter a server.

Yeah don't worry about that. Right now the nexus cannot be updated until Mobious updates it and fixes that. Just ignore it atm

it keeps me from entering the servers, i try to join and it just closes everything out except character select, which i cant hit 'ok' on (made a character, used it in single player fine), and gives me another popup which says i need to update after basically knocking me back to the starting screen

Did you try updating using the java updater... The java updater is old version and Mobious isn't around to update it which stinks.

You'll need to get the 1.3.4.1 patch which you can find one the main forums, or wait until 1.3.5 is out which should be soon.

The java updater only goes to 1.3.3, and if you try updating using it, it will basicly downgrade you so you cannot enter anything. You can see the version via when you start up the game. Anything below 1.3.4.1 will not work I believe.

Make sure the server you connect on is as well 1.3.4.1 ... Theres been a couple players using 1.2.x which will hopefully be removed/banned soon because its mainly used as a exploit for cheating at the moment. I'm not entirely worried though because we'll be coming up with a new stat system in the future anyways.

nite by new stat system are you meaning we will have to start fresh as players? cuz that would suck @$$  or just a new system on how you gain your stats?

Eh we'll have to see. I might give players a 'bonus' to there beginning stat to players who are already playing so you can gain rank to where you kind of are but yeah.

The new stat system will involve alot of things and be depended on a 'prestage' type of points.

So kills/ai kills/planet captures/etc will all make one total point system, like how most systems are now. Right now its a bit of a mess because half the times you have the points, but not enough kills, or the other way around.

i would hope there was some kind of bonus  lol i may have alot of my kills as ai kills but the points wernt easy everything sounds good though i seen alot of great improvements sence i came back to sf keep up the great work

Some players Night have played a long darn time, it would only be fitting to make some kind of Hall of Fame for those players otherwise it kinna eats the big one because 9 years is a lot and some longer.

a simple hall of fame even on this fourm would be reasonable.


also the comment that some are using the old 1.2 era servers are not over exploits or cheating sir, in fact that im aware it was only to be albe to play king of the hill a server that will not work using the new game. 

some folks like that server.   dig?
