I will be making my mod again, based on Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Titled "Second Invasion" takes place in our solar system that leads to the events in the Ender's Game book.

I hope everyone is hyped! Cheesy

I've done zero research.

I rebuilt my mod using XML stuffs when all of that was being made. Will that transition over from my old files or will I have to start from scratch?

I got all the source and everything still...I don't even remember what the hell im doing! LOL

We are probably going to be switching over to XML in 2.0 becuase dat/scn files are messy and annoying. We'll probably do a dat to XML converter too.. Plus we can make a nice editor to make game editing stupid simple. 2.0 wont' be out for awhile however...

But to port over dat/scn from 1.2 if you have them at all, theres a tad of additional things you have to do which can be found on the SF.net website, buts its messy atm. If you can get it to 1.2 dat/scn I can convert it over to 1.3.5 in 10 minutes.

The new website will be alot nicer though for understanding what has been done, everythings in the air atm Smiley

But basicly 1.3.5.1 is just 1.2RC7 coding thats been modified to solve bugs and a few new features people wanted.

Just be sure to update the mod so it will run properly in 1.3.x, some new things have been changed and added, etc.

I really don't like XML. I find it bloated, slow, and difficult to work with.

can always make a dual system that uses both current dats and XML.

But I will also make a nice editor for easy mod making.

As for the current dat system, it really does need a different delimiter other then spaces, I find it annoying to use because sometimes a minor issue is difficult to detect in it. Specially if you used a 'tab' by mistake and no spaces. Or if you don't leave a enter key at the last line, etc. etc.

i like the dual system idea cuz i have no idea how to do xml Cheesy but if u could make something as u said to make it easier that would be ok that or convert my koth lol then i wont worry
